I may be more enamored of it simply because I have 2 blue dumbo rats that look similar to Remy--the main star.

But I can't wait to go see it. :)

OH man that was awesome!!! Absolutely stunning. The shot with the 2 people on the boat (sitting at the table) was absolutely beautiful looking (they all were haha...but that was the main one where I was like "wow...it really can't get much better than this!")

Lol...I'm all giddy now after watching it :D

Simply amazing. Can't wait, seems they've hit this one out of the park. I love the exaggeration in the poses. The scene where the main rat gets squeezed under the table and looks like one of those stress relievers is inspired.

Great character designs too. My only beef with the Incredibles, and its minor, is most of the background characters look too similar. I understand why they did it, but it seems they've overcome that obstacle here.

Can't wait for the HD quicktime so I can pause and frame by frame some of the animation.

I wouldn't recommend visiting the Disney site without at least a 3.0 GHz processor and 2GB of RAM (seriously, I've rarely seen busier webpages than this one).

Thanks, yes, i have a very old computer that i use just for the internet.

I already saw the trailer and it is beautiful, but i will like to downloaded to my hard drive.
The link that you posted is from the old teaser trailer....not this new one.

-Is there any way to save this to the hard drive....or maybe some other site that has this in .mov?

thanks

If you have Quicktime Pro, just right click on File > Save As when it's finished downloading.

You're done.

I'm one of those people that walked out of Cars with a shrug, but this looks very refreshing and very very cool.

Hope it still feels like a Brad Bird film though...

I didn't think much of the teaser, but now that they've shown more of the story, I'm totally hooked. I'm goign to watch this like 3 times like I did with the incredibles.

Yes I must agree this looks like Pixar at it's best.
I didn't like Cars that much and the Incredibles never really got me.
Looks and animation are just mind blowing imho
Of course an incredible production too, listen to those voice actors.

It must be the Shrek people are doing it again ;)

Yeah, I think this could be a really good film, we'll see. But again, I think the japanese/chinese trailer was much better. It was much more slow paced, much more storytelling and it had much more character.

Yeah, I think this could be a really good film, we'll see. But again, I think the japanese/chinese trailer was much better. It was much more slow paced, much more storytelling and it had much more character.

I've been told by many people that it's done specifically that way. The asian market supposedly prefers trailers that are slower, that reveal more about the storyline, and have touching emotional moments in them. Wheras the american market prefers more sight gags and fast editing. If you look at all the pixar trailers for the past 4 to 5 films, they all sort of follow that forumula. And all the pixar films themselves have been a good blend of slapstick and emotionally charged bits. So I think in the end, everyone will win.

Been doodling all night as a result of the new footage. I'm really pleased about how well this movie is looking.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Remy looks like a dumbo. I had a blue rex who looked similar to him, except she was berkshire as well.

I love the trailer....but what stood out to me was the "bad" chef looking through the blinds and how he reacts. Spot on...

Looking like it will be an awesome movie!

Apparently, the UK isn't getting Ratatouille until October 5th !!
It's the same film for crying out loud, no localisation required - yet we're one of the last countries on the release schedule ?!!

WHAT THE HELL !?!?!

And people complain about piracy destroying the movie industry - sheez!

OH MY GOD! How cool is that!! Funny how the japanese one is a different trailer.

I haven't got this exciting since rushing to see the first Toy Story!

03-26-2007, 03:35 AM
Heh, this could be the first Pixar movie I'd watch in the cinema.

The Japanese one has a different title too, Remi no oishii resutoran or Remi's delicious restaurant.

Jadetiger
03-26-2007, 05:58 AM
Wow, I didn't even realize that there was a whole human rat duo thing going on till this trailer. That first trailer was misleading. None the less, I'm even more excited about it now. I think this is going to do much better than Cars, which in my opinion was one of Pixar's weaker films.

I really didn't think much of this film from the teaser, dont get me wrong i thought it looked beautiful, but the story didn't really look like it would interest me, but now after watching the new trailer i can't wait to see this film!!

rcronin
03-26-2007, 03:41 PM
Hypothetical: with all of the recent mo-capped humans and the argument, "why does this film need to be animated", what sets this one apart? I mean, obviously the rat needs to be animated (a la Stuart Little) but what else? Just pondering.

SamSed

The Japanese one has a different title too, Remi no oishii resutoran or Remi's delicious restaurant.

Because it's easier for a japanese kid to pronounce and remember "Remi no oishii resutoran" or just "Remi" than "Ratatouille" (rat.a.to.ee);)
