View Full Version : Problem with...er...something
milosp 03-06-2003, 11:04 AM The model is lit up with one skylight and a spotlight...
when I set bump to 0 the surface is smooth,
but when I set it up to 1 I get too bumpy surface (the image in attachment).
The same is at 50
How can I make it less bumpy?

Howdy !
Is this a texture map you're using to create the bump ? If it is a map, then you could lower contrast settings in your map directly.
Maybe tweaking the blur parameter in Max could help too.

if your bump map is in black & white..why don't you convert it to gray & white..blur it more..you know..try playing with the map.

I believe you have to do one of two things, or a hybrid between them.
Use the lighting override material.
Set the supersampling of your material to on.
Use the raytrace material.
I'm playing around with this at the moment as well, but I've yet to come to a proper conclusion, but these things seem to work though :)

doesent work
one more thing I forgot to mention... This only occurs when using LIGHT TRACER... (I must use it, or everything looks so unrealistic)
The bump map is grayscale, tried to blur itbut it doesent help :hmm:
