I was curious as to some of your character modeling workflows.
I just recently started modeling in high detail with Mudbox and have adopted a workflow that doesn't seem real efficient, so I was wondering how others tackle the process.
1. Model zero level in Max (slowly switching to Modo :) )
2. import into Mudbox
3. get model up to about 4-5 levels ( I realize the number of levels depends on what you want)
4. import back into Max
5. add additional props like armor pieces or more "hard edged" items to model
Should I be trying to model the entire thing (props included) when doing the subdiv surface modeling, or can it be personal preference?
Should a person do the character in sections during the sculpting process?
Thanks for any insight. I have modeled low poly for 10 years so these astronomical poly counts are new to me. :)
