three 03-06-2003, 01:02 AM Hi, what do you say?
C&C is warmly recieved.
Some background?
This is going to become a part of the Hellraiser universe, a spinoff from an old goodie: "Pinhead"
Sure, it's not that original, but I hope for a dramatic scene and disturbing memories.
"Mister, what can I do for you?"

he's gonna have a sort of wire/rope running along his arms, a plain crown on his head and so on... i'm having trouble trying to get that wire together, if anyone's got any cool tips on how to do them, I'd be delighted.
Rock on

Nice looking mesh, I like the simplicity of it so far. You've made alot of improvement since I last saw your work. Nice idea you have for the outfit, I would like to see how it develops, since I would also like to create a similar style outfit for one of my soon to be revised characters.

hi dude! :D
long time no seen
hope everythings allright?
thanks for the compliments :) Yeah, I feel like I've improved greatly since we last spoke.
I'm having trouble trying to get the textures right on the skirt/girdle, though. It all bunches up in the back.
BUT! No worries, right? :D
And the rope is still troublesome.
I'll let you know when I've come further. Take care.
i'm not sure what soft your using but i'm sure there is a way of doing this technique in any soft....for the rope on the arm...copy the arms and paste them into a new layer or whatnot....then draw a spline in the shape you want the rope to flow down the arm and stencil that onto the arm...then grab those points and and do rail extrude along the spline on the arm to get it to follow the contour of the arm.....GO HERE (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39898&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) to see what I did with this technique......it's a pretty good way of doing it...again I don't know what soft you're using so I can't get tool specific....hope this helps....good luck...

Hey, Remi :D
Thanks dude.
I'm using 3D Studio MAX 4 and, I'm trying to figure out how to do that "stencil"-thing in 3dsmax. I've been trying to use the Cloth-plugin, but well, it doesn't give good results.
But this gave me something to think about, I can certainly use the idea at lest.
So, thanks a bunch.

Okay, I've been trying to go for Remi's tips, but haven't got it to work with 3DSMax yet, still trying though.
For now, a small update of my problem :D
The first image(1) shows my problem, as you can see the texture doesn't fit together allright, and in the (2)Unwrap Modifier the top part of the skirt is overlapping each other, in other words, the vertices don't break and fold outwards as the others do.

And finally an image of how far I am right now. 3 Lights in the scene, 1 white, 2 of different hues of blue, the white one cast shadows.

CRITS! :xtreme:
Try making the top part of the skirt a seperate surface and see if that works...it may not be what you want to do but that may be your only option....keep going:thumbsup:

Remi... thanks :) That made the top part better, but the texture gets cramped in the middle of the back of the skirt (too many "of"'s? :D)... maybe I'm too tired :)

Okay, texturing is NOT my best side, so, if any of you can think up of a way to get rid of this line, please hit me back. :D

(yeah, i've baked the vertices)
Now, I'm hitting the sack, it's 0421 here, and I'm set up for a early morning.
Take care, and keep those C&C coming.
