anyone have experience with (or ideas on how to) model branching structures like veins, arteries, trees, etc. I'm looking for a smooth connected transition between the trunk and the branches. All of the programs I've tried (xfrog, paintFX) make branching structures, but the branches are separate objects from the trunk. I've tried booleans to connect them but haven't had success with that either.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to create curves and then skin them all with a contiguous surface.
And, I'd need some control over thickness along the length of the vein.
