View Full Version : 'rgh... TETSUO!!!!!!!'

hey all,
now that i've got a bit more free time, i'm starting a project i wanted to during school that i really didn't have the time & patience for then. i've seen a few people go & model kaneda's bike & that's cool & all but it's like everyone's giving tetsuo the shaft. so i'm going to attempting to model him.
i'm using the thick-ass darkhorse gn's for reference but i probably should scan them in for better results.

short term goal: model him the way he is toward the end of the manga with the flak jacket & white hair.

long term goal (ie. wishful thinking): animate him losing control of his arm like in the anime.

but that's way, way further down the road. here's the basic body shape so far. any tips for making the geometry a little cleaner? i mean if i do end up trying to animate it, i want to try & make it easy as possible.

ps- yeah i know he looks a bit too happy but don't worry, i'll fix that lol

Hmm - looks like its still early days for this so far. Can't really suggest on how to make the mesh cleaner. :shrug:

Would like to see how this progresses though...

Its still early but i see the basic mesh is a little flawed in the area under the armpit/chest. I saw an interesting article on the homepage at 3dtotal.com on proper topoligy for this area for example

He um... looks like a cute little girl. Make the eyes smaller, give him that lumpy forehead and permanent scowl. :D
