You´ve modeled the Rayman for the commercial and the game or just the commercial or are they the same?

phoenix 2K : well, for the commercial I was able to give him the look I wanted...you'll be able to see that he has not exactly the same look than on the game package or posters ect ect...

Lurifax : thx, we've modeled a high rez version for the commercial...Gege did all the character and textures once, then I got back on it to finish the hair, clean it a little bit :wip: , and do all the morph target, rig, setup ect ect... Gege for president :beer:

and no they're not the same...ours has a little bit more polygons... :)) for the set I used some ingame elements to keep the feel and look of the game, and to finish it in time...
Globox is an upgrade version from the lowrez game character...

I have always just loved the original and whimsical look and feel of Rayman very much.It's my pick as best platformer ever created from it's gamepaly to overall looks and appeal.

I am crazy about the whole design from characters to props,the whole World is so vibrant and great to look at.The whole World is soooo very well designed as well,plus the options and extras in gamepaly in the game itself is always so great.Now this game of your's really takes vision,that's something that cannot be taught.:beer:

I'll be hopping and playing and escaping in the World Of Rayman in a couple days now,I already have it pre-ordered.I have an XBOX and GC,but could not wait for the XBOX version another two weeks so I am going for the GC version.:drool:

Well anyways you should be extra proud of yourself as your partners should be too,it's really a great achievement. Here is a cold one for you and the rest of your crew........:beer:

Very cool. Yeah, I think I'll be picking this one up for my GameCube as well. Besides, (correct me if I'm wrong) you can hook up the GameCube game and the GameBoy Advanced to get extras. :thumbsup:

I'm back..................I checked out the movies the first time, but missed your latest commercial at that time,but just caught it now,it's really amazing, Those wooden targets sure do get blown up to pieces,Rayman sure has some heavy firepower.I just love the whole look very much,totally my cup of tea persoanlly.As for gameplay I cannot wait to have some fun with it in a couple days. Oh I already know I will enjoy it because it will be better than the others........and I loved those already. I am quite busy all the time,but I can always find the time for those speacial fun games,this is one of those type games.

The style alone is enough for me,just looking at all the great art.Sometimes I just sit in one spot and look around for long periods of time just enjoying the scenery.....Until the badies come looking for me that is........:p

Maybe a weird question, but do you happen to know how the original Rayman graphics (the 2D ones) where created? Where the tile sets for example painted with Photoshop or something similair and then scaled down to a lower resolution or was a different technique used?

Luke schreur : after some small investigations...
the sprites were all handrawn by Alexandra Ancel (designer of Rayman with Michel Ancel), then colored on photoshop, reduce to the game size and modify on deluxepaint by Olivier Soleil (a friend and very very very cool and funny guy)

Hey Baby look................Rayman gets a 9.7.....They say...........This game easily is the best platformer available for the Nintendo GameCube, and is a must buy for whatever console you choose to play it on. Right now Mario is scratching his head saying ..."What-sa-wrong with me."
