Anyone know if there's a way to change the rendering order for Layer Effects?

For example Bevel is always rendered overtop Stroke, but sometimes I need the stroke on top instead.

Maybe CS3 allows this?

Hmm never thought about that. You could try to add the layer style (stroke only) and merge this layer with an emtpy one to get rid of the layer effect. After that just add the bevel layer style :)

Yeah, been doing this, just not very adjustable since I then have to touch two (or more) layers.

I'm doing a lot of game UI mockups, by reusing and resizing common elements, but it starts to get tedious.

Thanks for the reply.

Eric instead of make stroke type to “inside” that makes it button of bevel, there is a way on CS that makes it possible to add any number of blending effect as you like!

So:

Just make anything that you want in first level, then go to [ Layer / Smart Object / Group Into New Smart Object ] !

It’s all! Then add any blending fx you like again n repeat the steps if desired!

N for edit your previous steps, you can simply double click the layer or going to SO menu for more options! ;)

Although I must say its main purposes isn’t it really! I mean about smart objects, but it’s useful for your goal also I thought!

Hope it help, mim, :)
