CGTalk - Recomended Books

Two questions really, I am new to 3Ds Max and was wondering if anyone could recomend a good book to work through to help me develop my skills?.

Low or High poly I would like to learn both, perhaps theres some tutorials people could recomend. Most of the threads on tutorials are either old dead links or not in english. Anyone know some good ones?

Stick with the tutorials that ship with max, they will teach you enough to develop a basic understanding of the UI and the program.
