hello.

I have tracer applied to the path of particles. and im using this tracer objects under a sweep nurb.

does anyone know of a way to randomize the colors of indivduals lines gernerated.
I was thinking something along the lines of the way colorchanger worked with particle objects (but it didnt work.)

Well if you can render it with HAIR instead then you could add some color variation in that way (via the variation settings in the hair shader).

sorry . im a little confused

i tried applying the hair shader to the sweep nurb thats creating the geometry for the tracer. but i got clumps instead of a smooth line.

can u please be a little specific.

What I meant was to actually render using HAIR, rather than sweepnurbs, then the standard HAIR material (not the shader) would allow you to add color variation, you can simply apply the hair material to the splines themselves (no need to use the sweepnurbs).
