i've been following a tutorial on lynda.com about blending colors - something which I cant for the life of me work out.

it says about creating two layers and ticking the underlying color box - this apparently should then allow the two colours to blend. Basically the underlying tick box makes no difference at all. I even tried the notes on this post (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=23739 (http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=23739)) but it made no difference at all.

Can anyone help?? I've not been able to create any painting so far where the colours blend together. Is there another way to make colours blend into each other?? All my efforts at the moment result in the colour i'm painting in completely going over the existing colour as if it wasnt there - rather than blending it.

cheers in advance!

You have to use a brush that can blend to do blending.

Try one of the "blender" catagory brushes or kick up the blend slider on the brush you're using.
