View Full Version : maxscript WIP renders
TimWoods 03-05-2003, 10:31 AM Just a quick question, ...
has anyone made or seen a script that will render a camera, wireframe or shaded at a specific time interval, bit like a screen shot or print screen style.
so i can get a time lapse effect on my modelling. just saving me time because i cant be bothered to hit the render button, and because i always forget!
hopefully my jumbled description makes sense :wavey:
thanks

You'd be looking for RenderCam, part of the Blur script pack. Download it here (http://www.blur.com/Tech/zip/bspack_r42.zip).

To lfshade..
hello, you seem to know a lot about script..
could you help me please?
I'm trying skintools(script) to mirror vert weights.
but it's extremely unstable.
it crashes max every 3 minutes literally.
if I select more than one vertice, it'll crash right away..
so, I select one vertice at a time, and then it crashes after few
others.
is there any script which'll work better?
I know, I can still go totally manually.
but you know....
anyway, please help me~
have a nice day.

Have you grabbed the latest version of Skintools? It seems pretty stable for me. What Max version are you running, and what's your video setup?

hey, thanks for replying.
yeah, I think that's the latest version.
I'm using max5.1 ;)
what do you mean by video setting though?
does it have anything to do with the script?
what happens is....
If I select vertices and hit start,
it seems to work for 1 or 2 minutes, but soon....
the error message pops up.
do you think that could be the mirrored bones?
I was having some trouble with the bone mirroring, too.
you know... wierd rotation of the copied bones.
So, I re-did the whole bones for the left arm last night.
I'll try once more.... otherwise, I'll have to go vertice by vertice....
:annoyed:
thanks, lfshade.
oh, by the way, does your skintool mirror weight nicely?

I thought that by crashing you meant that Max was crashing, which seemed to signal a possible video problem. Never mind that;) All I can advise at this point is to make sure all of your bones have unique names and are not scaled (in other words, they should have a scale of 1.0 on all axes). Using the Reset Scale button on the heirarchy panel can often help with this.
My script, just so you know, does not handle weights - it only mirrors the cross-section sizes and endpoint handles
