HI,

I have to build a realistic lighting for a car in a showroom set (in max).
Simply, I built a box, flipped the normal, put the car in it, added some Vray lights in the box and a hdri in the environment in the vray parameters. But the hdri lighting doesn't go through the box, but it is ok when I hide the box.
There must be some simple thing to do with the box material or the hdri/vray parameter but I don't get it. Any help about that?

Thanks.

vray object properties, exclude from reflections tick box. and further more, if its not going to be visable, y have the box in the first place, and not just a floor?

Yes! It works, exactly what I needed.
Thank you.

I've just watched your 206 car renders, waw it looks really cool. what configuration do you use to make the reflexions? a plane, a box, a scpecial map in the environment map slot? because it doesn't seem to be any hdri....

cheers. well its a bit of everything. my car studio lighting is still evolving. HDRI, planes, and black and white dome for it to sit on, for the horizon. that was an old render the version with all the stickers on, the red version is newer. more to come though. just puttin the finishing touches to my BMW.
