I'm comming from the now defunked DeepPaint 3D. I'm trying to make material presets with the various layers (color, spec., bump) in Bodypaint R3. I purchased the Kiwi bodypaint video and as indepth as it is it doesn't cover this...

Can someone point me in the right direction :)

What about the manual !?
Double click on a material icon (material editor). You'll get a window with all these kind of layers you are looking for.

Well Thanks..I guess!

For some reason my help file "f1" is all blank. I have tons of software and for reasons of room I store the boxes and such off site.

Yes I can see all the channels. Thanks again!

But as for the presets? How do I create my own? So that with one click the material has all the channels filled out with color, spec. and bump from my texture libraries?

Example: I have over 500 wood textures. That's 500 color, spec. and bump that all match. I'd like to break them into about 10 catagories then have 50 wood materials in each to where I could jst choose one of them with one click and have all te channels put into that material for my brush.

In case you prefer to read a manual, you can download it from chez Maxon:

http://www.maxon.net/pages/download/documentation_e.html

The updates for 3 aren't in, but the rest is basically all still ok.

O.k. I'm able to create presets now. There is still one thing that I can't find in the help document. When I go to load presets it says MAXON and user. The Maxon presets have tree hierarchy. How do I create a hierarchy for my user presets?

Hi, you can organise your presets using for all areas of Bodypaint/C4D via the Content Browser (this is also in general an easier way to save presets as you can just drag & drop them in), you can create new libraries, folders etc in there and organise however you want, and you can have multiple content browsers open to help with the organisation.

Thanks Per-Anders :)

I have presets docked now and I'm all set up and saved as startup layout

I'm having a small problem with getting it to access my texture maps thru the network but I'm not ready yet to ask for help :D
