are the dvds the same quality like the combustion 2 dvds?
(screen filmed and compressed to dvd)

or is this real screen capture quality this time?

I can't find any screenshots on you site.

Well these videos would be for someone that could not afford a
2-3 day class in 3d max 5....which averages between $900-$1300.

Quality is superb!!! We have had no complaints on our C2 DVD's.
You will never be able to get computer screen quality onto video. C2 was an extra challenge because discreet made the words on their buttons so small. 3D Max 5 was much easier, because the wording is much bigger.

May we get your opinion on the content of the training itself on C2?

Thanks,

Dave

hello dave

First, I like the c2 tutorial DVDs and I only want to speak about
the screen! Quality now:

When I bought the DVDs I thought it would be quality similar
to DVD.

BUT I got the impression, that your company used a video camera
to record ken ("teacher") and even the monitor screen.

The c2 tutorials were first provided on VHS tapes, when the
DVD comes more popular you decided to sell the tuts on DVD, too.

Let me guess, for DVD production, the VHS tapes where digitalized,
compressed and put on the DVD.

This causes, from my point of view, a quiet bad quality.
I hope you know of codec’s like tscc which allow to capture the
screen digital and save the file on hard disk.

It is 14hours on 8 DVDs! perhaps you know, that the video cam ->
Digitalizing way is not the best, but from a point of customer
I have to say I accepted a better quality.

The text on the buttons is not too small, I am working with
combustion every day and there is no need for bigger text(wording),
from my point of view the quality is to worse.

my opinion

Actually, the DVD's came out before the VHS tapes for C2. A camera is not used in our process, but a very expensive scan converter. Also the DVD's we have are video, not data. This allows the user to be able to play on either their computer or on a regular entertainment DVD player, which we found out that most people use. This process you are referring to is for data only.

If you can, maybe send over a 1 min video DVD on combustion, just doing anything, using your process....we will pop it in our DVD entertainment player here and then we can see the difference. We are always looking to improve the quality and appreciate the feedback.

Thanks,

Dave
