I just downloaded the new update, after waiting such a long time .. just a few fixes and stuff, but still ... finaly something! If it wasn't for the fact that when I open a scene from the 2.5b version, ithe 2.5c crashes! great!
Anyone else tried it?

it says with vista update so that shouldn't be the probem
It starts up but crashes when opening a 2.5b scene

same problem here i'm afraid, with two of us that tried using 2.5c.

crash occurs whenever messiah asks to be pointed to a file on scene load in the project directory, even if it finds the scene file it requests it'll crash... tried homegrown scenes, all the messiah_content and sample scenes, etc. : /

-edit- i was using xp btw : )

No problem Fred
I can imagen that you guys very work hard to deliver.

I do have a little question for in the future; Are there plans to work/develop further on the animation part of messiah? Also additive export/import options would be great (Fbx,mdd,...) Without the need of external pluggZ

It is still my main tool to deliver animations and I love it like no other, its fast and qualitive but you must understand I have to look ahead eh.

Thx

I am with Thur on this, we recently bought two seats of Messiah, and its really a fantastic tool for animation, but certain aspects which can give more control such as weighting, vertex control functions for creating morph targets and joint morphing control are very important to us as I am sure it is with many other users and potential new users ... and we def do not want to have to invest into xsi for this as we love the workflow of Messiah.

To be honest, rendering in Messiah is nice and all, but I honestly do think that 90% of users interested or using Mesiah is mainly for animation purposes, for Mesiah to survive as we want it to, these bits should be heavily considered and refined.
C4D has GREATLY improved their CA toolset, LW promises to have state of the art CA toolset, Maya well is just Maya, but Messaih to me has a fantastic workflow and just needs to refine areas of general user interest and workflow ....

Cheers to Messiah and its continual growth ...

Yes, but I am a brand spanking new user. I noticed no difference in performance.

Mine still evaporates when I undo a few steps while rigging. It could be my processor is a little cooked. I am looking into replacing that.

Hi, Iīm thinking about purchasing Messiah as an animation tool and render in another app. Iīm not sure about itīs development... it continues or itīsīstagnated? do you think to implement the new XML file format from MAYA for export animation?
Any news?

Even stagnated, messiah is more fun to animate in then most other soft. Hopefully they take some time off from the render and focus on the ol bread and butter, animation!

Do you think that they continue development of Messiah?

they are definitelly developing messiah. I know this because i met with the crew over dinner :) so its not stagnating, just a small, busy team thats all.

haha i tried to ask as much as i could but its not polite to pry too much. :) Im confident that they are working on the next version though ;)

(of course even if i did know anything, it would still be up to pmg to release info of any kind)

I think point oven baking is the best, im involved in a production fulltime right now where we use maya + lightwave with .mdd format to transfer animation and its working pretty good. Messiah can do the same with LW for a fraction of the price and a bit more elegance. (of course thats all based on your needs)

Thanks, Stooch.
Do you know if Messiah has plans to implement XML export in the app?
Thanks a lot
