This isn't in reply to this job but I do have a question about Tippett studios.

I've noticed you have had a CG painter position open for quite a while and am wondering what your needs are for that position. I pretty well qualify on every aspect except for renderman but as I understand it there aren't alot of places to get trained in Renderman... they say you have to get hired in and go from there.

So my question is... would Tippett ever consider hiring and training someone if they believed they were talented and commited enough? I have a few friends working at the Studio, have visited the studios many times and have heard nothing but great things about the company...

Thanks for any info and I apologize for going off topic....

since i'm not in the paint dept...i won't/ can't really talk for them.

but i can tell you that if we (or really any company) finds the "right candidate," even if they don't know "everything" we/they are willing to train you. because at every company you have to learn *something* new--even if you've been around the block a few times. be it some new tool, pipeline issue, technique, etc....

it all depends on your demo reel to show that you have that "spark of talent."

...make any sense...?

...makes a lot of sense and I completely agree with you... thanks!

Good luck with your character TD search.... I know of someone who would be perfect for the position, I'll see if he's interested... I think he's more interested in games though....

thanks again for the reply...
