Here's my current demo reel... I'm working on a new one and feedback would help a lot. If it doesn't load by just clicking just right click and save as. :p
C & C welcome.

Very nice.

Your modelling is obviously really good, and I like the format of the reel as well.

Here are some comments:

Love those robot toys!

Some of the 3D models seem too dark in presentation - there are some anims of a big mech with guns coming out and the detail seems lost in the darkness. Obviously the compression didn't help!

Most of the 2D artwork went by way too fast - you have loads of great drawings, but maybe cut back on the quantity and show the best ones for longer? I couldn't see the ones that flew past the screen in the foreground.

Your logo is wicked :applause:

Are you looking for work with this? If so good luck!
Cheers.

really nice models. I agree with some of the scene being too dark. I also think that you should have your models in either a more dynamic pose instead of the usual da vinci. looks like your models are all rigged, it would be nice to see them in a cool pose. I really like how you incorporated your concept art in with the 3d versions. I personally would make it shorter and cut out some of the content. the first 10 seconds are title, maybe cut that down, and use the more dynamic and strong parts in the very begining, like wolverine comming at the camera slashing and the lenny kravitz animation. I personally liked your human modeling more, really looks good, and from what I've been told by employers, too many robots kinda get on their nerves. thought hose Ai robots are really cool.and avoid repeating models that already have been shown earlier. The music changing to another song and then changing to the previous song is kinda jarring, but I don't think that matters too much.and also cut down the 2d a little shorter, not faster. These are just ideas and comments coming that stood out to me, but then again what the hell do I know. Good reel though, just wanted to give some ideas to you since you asked.:)

Thanx for the tips guys. I'll make sure I improve all that in my next demo. I'd still like to hear some more comments and suggestions though. Here's some images of what's in the demo.

I agree with most of the stuff above. The reel seems to run a bit long, and it seems like you're just trying to cram too much stuff in. slow down the 2d, because its nice work and it'd be great to see it. And repeating models seems like you're trying to fill up space or something. Show the models the best way, once. I liked the animation with wolverine and the sentinel. rather than just spinning models. and I agree with the whole darkness and detail idea from before. But you got nice work and plenty of it. cut it down to 2 min of only the best and I think you'll have a winner.

love the lenny model. The only thing I think needs tweeking is the outlining around those ai robots in the middle, only when they are animated. the stills with the borders look great (like a logo for some old skool t's). Mabey the animated background texture is interfering ...
they stuff at the beginning rocks too, love the way you see the drawings to finished model... great stuff.

Hey cool demo reel.. I love the Lenny Kravitz model.. cool stuff there.

Question: The WIP you're doing on Danger Girl.. where did you get that background sheet from? Did you draw that out based on Campbell's stuff or was that his own? Either way, it's coming along good.. I heard Campbell has some sort of book out with sketches like that.
