I've been collecting images to use for my textures for my films for years now and have received quite a few requests for those images. So I've put them all up for use (for free). Hope they can be of use for everyone!

The site is at [url="http://www.thegrimypolygon.com/"]www.thegrimypolygon.com (http://www.thegrimypolygon.com/)

Lots of new updates are coming very soon!

Thank you for sharing your textures!

I also visited your website. I love the characters, they are both really well made and charming. Great animation!

hey, i stumbled upon this thread while looking for some ideas on how to proceed with a new project im starting, when i saw the render of the robot u posted..its awesoem!! I need to make a futuristic robot tahts aged...sort of like ures...the problem is ive never made something look so beat up......its quite scary. PLus its an stl mesh (meaning its triangle city for me). If u have any suggestions on how to tackle this challenge id sure appreciate it!

Texturing something like the robot just takes a lot of time and patience. There were many parts to that character, each unwrapped seperatly. I then started piecing together lots of different images together onto the unwrapped texture maps. Dirt forms more in cracks and crevices, so I found pictures of dirty metal and grimed up those. You have to build up many layers in Photoshop of these pictures, laying them in appropriate places so the dirt forms in places that would have dirt, and scratches would form in places that would have scratches.
