I've recently made a challenge over an italian forum.........

I would like to ask you if it's possible to make a flame like that one into the second ZIPPO you'll find in this thread.........it was forbidden to take something from outside in the challenge and I'm not sure that flame has been made in max.......

thank's for your time.........the images are into the 1st page of the thread...........

Awhile back, I downloaded an excellent candle scene someone posted. It was made by Andreas Calmbach. I hope I spelled that name right and by the way thanks for the file. It similar to what you want. I would send it to you, but it's not my file, but if you do a search for candle it should be here. If not, try the C4D forum at Renderosity.com. I got it at one of these two sites.

ONCE AGAIN:
THE FLAME IS FAKE OR PHOTO?

It shouldn't be that hard to do for a still image. I think I'd use a combination of gradients for color, luminosity, and transparency and map to a plane in the shape of the flame. Don't have time to play with it right now, but maybe later.

I would like only to know if in your opinion it is an adapter photo in photoshop over the 3d image or it's a 3D flame for real.

I don't want to know how to make it...........

I don't know if it's a photo, but your question was is it possible to do it in CG and my answer is--yes it is.
