Hello,

I'm not new to AE, but venturing into working with HDR images makes me feel new to it. What are some concise resources for working with rendered HDR images (mainly exr format). I'm using AE7 pro. I'm beginning to learn about setting the color working space, but I'm still just hit and miss with the settings. Is there a descriptive book or tutorial on how to know which settings to use, or is it all experimenting until something looks good? Bits and pieces are coming together like working space, linear blending, color profile converter, compander, etc, but it's not completely making sense yet as to why and what makes good results. Any advice on books or tutorials are most welcome.

It's Stu Maschwitz's site and, if I remember correctly, has a good HDR series of posts.

I'm sure this is only the tip of the iceberg, so hopefully some others have more resources to share.

Excellent, thanks! Definitely info in the right direction. I think the AE7 Studio Techniques and DV Rebel's Guide books are what I am looking for as well. Looks like great info.

After Effect 7 Studio Techniques book arrived and the chapter on HDR and 32bit compositing really cleared some things up. Great book just for that chapter alone, plus alot more. I can't say I know why it works yet, but I do have a workflow now that I can reproduce and experiment with. I think I know what I'm doing, woohoo.
