folini 03-14-2007, 04:31 PM Hi,
Few days ago I had the pleasure to interview Bob McNeel, CEO of
McNeel and Associates, the company that makes Rhino 3D, Flamingo, Penguin, etc.
Bob talks about the history of his company and how he was able to build the online Rhino community.
If you are interested, you can find the complete interview here (http://blog.novedge.com/2007/03/an_interview_wi_3.html)

Nicely done. It isn't nothing too extensive to read really, but still rather interesting to learn about the history. Links were also in place.

Had no idea the rhino software development was so malleable to the users needs and intrests… that’s fantastic. I’m even more impressed with Rhino now than I was before.

Therein lies the reason Rhino users are so loyal. Name me another software company that not only listens to it's users but follows thru on user input. A lot of companies put up newsgroups, or forums giving the illusion that they listen to their users but they really don't.

I find it ironic that 10 years ago McNeel thought autoCAD was inefficent and created Rhino to fill the void. I've just seen the latest autoCAD edition and the default layout is in perspective and handles alot like Rhino. I might be wrong I only saw it for 5mins but at the least I found that interesting :)
