View Full Version : Monster Head
anthonyenos 03-04-2003, 05:18 PM I've posted this on the CG Channel forum, but it seems like there is still more activity here. This is sort of a Teen Frankenstein I have modeled based on a Halloween mask that my brother in law sculpted. You can check out his site here:Bump in the Night Productions (http://www.bumpinthenightproductions.com)
I'm making it more as a modeling exercise than anything, but I may try to animate it at some point. Any comments/criticisms are welcome.
Thanks,
Anthony

wow awesome, impressive, lovely !
Just try to add details on the skin, bumps and holes... But the modeling seems clean and perfect ! Any wireframes renders ?

Wow that's really neat. My only real suggestion would have to do with the tongue. The overall design/flow of the guy suggests clunkiness and clumsiness. This is evident by the Frankenstein forehead, the big bolts. The tongue makes me think of snakes and dragons which doesn't seem to vibe with this character. Maybe it might be cool if you gave him bigger, blunter teeth.
Either way. Its a cool design, and cool model. I'd like to see wires as well and possibly which app did you create it in. Awesome!

Thanks for the suggestions. Thickening the tongue may be a good idea. It was modeled in Maya 4.5 (Polygons) and I rendered it with the GI Joe setup from Pixho (http://www.pixho.com) so I could get some nice shadows with very little work. Here is an overlay of the base wireframe.http://elasticcreative.com/anthony/Portfolio/stills/MonsterWire.jpg

thats really good, wrinkles on the forehead seem especially deep.
and i agree that the tongue doesnt fit in with the character.
really awesome design overall, and good modelling to back it up.
