My first entrée and attempt to painting on the PC, i'm afraid its also going to be my last....
Easy there, Voluntas. Everybody starts somewhere and let me tell you that your painting has a lot of great movement from that freakin' tornado blowing through town. You need to do at least 100 topics before you stop, okay? Ninety-nine to go!
Cyanid: I really like your cross-hatchings but how come the girl next door is always sexy nowadays? Used to mean someone who was shy and demur, but a diamond in the rough. Eh, I'll shut up now. :p Great sketch. :)
Cyanid, very nice sketch! I had to Google Elisha Cuthbert :D
Voluntas, JTD is right. Hang on for a little while!
Here's my girl next door...

Darn, you all make such finished images for 25 minutes, i got this at about 30. I'm very unhappy about it and its pretty obvious i have value issues :( Well i'm here to learn.

Here's my slightly different approach to the theme, and a little story to accompany it...
"Girl: Next Door"
Door by door she continued down the dismal hall and then the next, almost convinced her search was all for nothing. All this time she hoped just one door would open for her.
She always wondered what was behind them. She was told never to ask. The doors had windows, mostly covered, and the rooms were dark and deep.
"They're of no concern to us," her father warned many times when she wondered aloud.
Just before she was ready to head back, down the stairs to the Main Hall, a handle gave!
Beyond the threshold began to glow an mysterious light, nearly blinding, yet strangely calm and inviting.
She paused for a moment, uncertain how to proceed. She cast her hand into the light. "How beautiful," she thought, tracing the rays with spellbound eyes.
Could she leave the familiar hall and enter this room of light? Should she?
"Perhaps only for a moment -- just to see," she thought, unaware of the awesome awareness and adventures awaiting her if she were to go one step closer...
