hey y'all,

i actually finished this new jump test a week ago, but just
didn't find the time to post it (even though it only takes a few
minutes, eh?) .. anyway. this is partly based on some videos
i took outside, partly animated from imagination.
would be nice if you could critique a lil' something about it.

if you're wondering why i took the time to light it like
that, well.. i'm also trying to learn some lighting - so if you
wanna critique that as well, go for it!

thanks in advance,
chiodo.

i hate to be pushing my thread, but would anyone care
to write just a tiny little something about the animation?

I like it, the landing looks really good and I like the changes in pacing.

A couple small suggestions:

1) When the guy jumps, I wish his upper body got more into it. In the take off, I feel like his torso should lean forward, sort of roll up into a ball with his arms back and bent. Then when he jumps it should unroll... like he's really trying to throw himself across the pit.

2) At the very end, he goes from running to stopping really fast. Draw out the slow down and turn more, or start having him slow down earlier. It seems really abrupt.

Overall the motion looks really good though. Keep up the good work!

When he starts, his right leg should push straight to start his forward motion and when he jumps his right leg should hang back with the other and then come forward with the left (more or less) for the landing. I think this jump looks more like a hurdle than a leap.

But there's something about that is really appealling.
