Greetings,

I've been rendering a bunch of my companies 3D assets using Brazil, and using an HRDI map in the Sky Light map channel.

Normally this has been getting us an awesome looking base layer that looks beautiful after we've added some of the finishing layers.

Problem is, is that now I've gotten to some of the video game assets, which rely heavily on alpha channels for detail like hair.

Now it goes all dithered on me. If I turn off the alpha maps, it goes back to looking normal, so it's obviously the alpha map.

With Alpha:

Has anyone else run into this? And if so, is there a fix?

Thanks!

Quick question, what are you saving the image out as from Max?

What type of material(s) are you using?

These were just saved as JPEG's. It's not a file saving problem though, as both images were saved the same way, and you can see the difference. This is a render-time problem.

I've tried using both the simple Brazil material, and the advanced one. The renders turn out the same way with both materials.
