I'm working on a project where I need to have dots or discs fall and create an image, in this kinda dot matrix, where the gray scale dictates the brightness or opacity of each dot/disc. i was reading there are ways to bake an image into the particle info and use that to drive color or whatever value. so i'm thinking maybe I could use the image file's grayscale to create the dot grid and have them fall onto a plane and leave the same image. of course you don't see the first image as they go by camera. I'm curious how to plug in the image's grayscale value to the particles so they aren't created or visible where the image is black and vice versa, but I want to make sure i don't create excess particles where they could just not be emitted. Also curious if I need to make a particle grid or if the emitter will create them in a perfect grid. Any help would be much appreciated.
