Im building a 3d freezer. Inside the freezer, I put a volumetric light. What I try to achieve, is when the freezer door opens, you see the light of the freezer.

But the light goes just thru the freezer door. even when i select the freezer door and freezer in the scene options from the lightsettings to EXCLUDE, the light goes thru the door.

This happens only to volumetric lights. Is there a way, to get rid of the glow outside the freezer, before the door opens??

thanks,

Patrick

Set the light to cast hard shadows.

I exactly don't know what you doing but one of these might be the solution

1:Polygon normals are not in proper position reversed or something.

2.you using a Visible volume light not volumetric go to visible light section and change it from visible to Volumetric.

3.light is not on the right place.

4.in render setting go to options and change ray depth to higher value .

5.in main render setting change Transparency from none to refraction.

if you have any problem again send file.

I think novice may be right in saying that you have the light in the wrong place. A similar problem happend to me and it was just the light size and position...
