I hope some of you guys out there can help me with this little question I have.

-I want triangles-

When I uncheck the "only edges" in the Display menu the edge that divide the quad poly is showed as a "dot line"(the example "1")...

I have for the second example cut all polys, and my question is if that's nessecary to do that to get triangles....all tutorials speaks of "uncheck only edges"..and then they show a picture that is similar to the "2" example .....I mean..when I then extrude the edges I end up with quads with a dot line that divide it...I want triangles...like the one showed to the right!

I hope someone have an easy answer since it's quite terrible to divide all quads and since the unchecking of "only edges" still has the quad polys...how do I fix that.??
Plz...

Thanks in advance

Thanks,

Emporio

It can be done pretty fast.
Use edge-selection and select all your objektīs edges. Scroll down and look for a button named "Visible" (itīs under "Surface Properties")

Howdy !

I hope i got it right and can help, from your message i kind of figured you might be using a Poly object, and that would be why you can't get to edit your tris.

It depends on what kind of object you're modeling with: if you are going with EPolys, you won't be able to modify your tris unless you actually create them: since you're in Epoly and that considers mostly quads (say by connecting two opposite vertices, splitting a quad, then you'll have two tris instead of your one quad and then you'll be able to edit them).
With an Epoly object, you won't find any "Visible" button in edges sub object either.

If you're working with EMesh, then it's all different since then you'll be working mostly with tris, and thus indeed you'll be able to display them all using subobject mode and "Visible" as Smay said.

The "Edges only" command is only for display, and works on both Polys and Meshes.
