First off ... Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39415&perpage=20&pagenumber=1) for this next Across the Board Mini-Challenge. There were many excellent suggestions which jeroentje and I considered before selecting brkofdon's "design a toy" idea.

Secondly, for those who are unfamiliar with the concept of the challenge ... you can see the original Cyborg challenge thread here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19292) (which has been ongoing since last August!).

The basic idea is to match 2D concept folks together with 3D modellers by:
beginning with concepts on the 2D forum
submitting 2D concepts to the WIP forum
modellers create the concept in 3D while working with 2D concept artist on additional details
Now here is the challenge: :bounce:
Design a toy.
That's it ... the resulting designs are only limited by your imagination.
A couple important things to remember:
This is NOT a WIP challenge but a concept challenge. Submissions should be finished works. We will allow limited posting of WIP if you're looking for feedback on your idea. However, to prevent the posting of 20 updates and overrunning the work of others, try to limit your amount of WIPs. Remove WIP images after you post a final.
Use your own webspace when you can to display your images. If you absolutely must use the attachment option on CgTalk, be sure to remove previous attachments as you add new ones. Only one attached image per toy design will be allowed in this thread.
3D modellers really appreciate it if you can supply ortho views (top, side, front & back) of your design, but it's not mandatory in your submission.
Be creative, be innovative and most importantly ... have fun!

The rules are simple, the guidelines are open-ended, the results will be fantastic! We can't wait to see what you come up with.

ROFLMAO! Hey jeroentje! No old stuff, OK? My personal fav is the packaged handgun, but the Christ toy is very very close.

Those are definately the type of toy designs I'd like to see ... but we're not limited to doing sick-n-twisted stuff (although it is more fun :D ).

I already have a couple ideas ... this is going to be a fun challenge. :bounce:

LOL no no no guys. I didn't even think about that one before dmcgrath brought it up :D
No old stuff. Just new ones. And Kirt is right: it doesn't need to be funny. I can think up 2 or 3 ideas that would be great to design, but I won't mow away the grass in front of your feet ;) (That an expression in English? I doubt it somehow.)

Ok...so this isn't much better than a scribbly speed paint, but I don't know if I have time to refine it. Anywho, here it is..enjoy:

Hi Ila :)

Yes of course you can. But remember this is a minichallenge to stimulate people working together. So modelling your own concept is not really what this minichallenge was thought up for ;)

Well, this looks like it's going nowhere fast.

I'll have a new idea this weekend. Consider this challenge over.
