This is a pic i did in painter, using an existing race found in magic the gathering, they're the church mafia. A day and a half in painter 9. Any crits are most welcome.

Great brushwork. I find the column behind him a little distracting because it has so much contrast, but that may be just me.

Cool character, great work. The fog coming up behind his head does bother me - seems forced. I agree with Moonvision, it might work better without as much contrast in the bg behind his head.
