Hello all,

I'm trying to play with realflow4.
I installed the C4D plugin but only the Mesh loader is showing up.

Any idea's why the other should not apear?

Thanks in advance.

Robert

are they UB? that would explain why they may not load if you are using UB version of C4D

They work fine for me in UB.
Are you using the February '07 versions?

This is a good point, last month they released the "more advanced" version of the plugin which has great TP support (particle age and such). You might want to check what version of C4D you're running and what version the plugin is suposed to load up on.

Thats funny, I cannot even find a UB version of cinema, I wanted to check if Tiziano's case would work for me too. I remember with R 9,5 there where different versions to choose from but now I have only two versions, of wich one is the 64 bits. Do I need to install it separately to check out (did a search here on the forum without results)?

Yes, I was aware of the new version, but that one also doesn't work.

So the fact that its working in UB makes them UB I guess, is it possible that it works differently or not in the non UB version of cinema?

Thanks for your help, Robert

EDIT: Ok, just found out that there should only be two versions on the install disk for windows, so that part seems ok. Still the problem remains.

No, I'm not using UB. I didn't know that a new plugin has been released, so I will try this one (Last time I tried some older versions of the script ;))

I think we're cross-polinating here guys.
UB stands for Universal Binary which is Apple's designation for compiled software that runs on Intel based Macs (as well as PowerPC). PPC would only work on pre-Intel Macs.

That being said, Robert, aren't you on a Windows machine?

The latest RF plugs are:
v.8.5, v9.6 and v10 from 12 February 2007 for Windows
v.8.5ppc, 9.5ppc, 9.6ub and 10ub from 12 February 2007 for Mac OS

Hi Tiziano,

Yes, i'm on a windows machine and I have the febr 2007 plugin installed.
All that I can see of RF in the plug in menu, is the Mesh Loader.
Thanks for your reply,

Kind regards, Robert

windows R10 feb 2007 plugin

Allright,........... Thats knowledge.
Would be nice to know whether other people on Windows have it working or not, and under wich version of C4D?

Thanks AAAron and others.

Yeah, I mean it could be really helpful to indicate the operating system that somebody used when discussing a software such as C4D which runs on both Windows and Mac.
I have recently seen a couple of discussions on boards like "does plugin XY run with R10 ?" and then after 10 replies they found out that they using different systems....

I am using Apple and the latest UB-plugins for RF work fine in C4DR10 on a MacBookPro with OSX10.4.8 and RF4.2.3.0102.

I've got it (the plugin released about a month ago) working fine in the regular XP (32bit) version of R10. No 64 bit support at this time, though.

That interesting. I'm on XP professional but I doubt it matters. And I guess you took the “nextlimit” folder from the R10 folder out of the zip into the plugins folder of cinema?

I wrote to Nextlimits support yesterday, see what comes out.

Thanks for your help, Kind regards.

Today I received an answer from Nextlimits suport.

They stated that probably the install was wrong and I should reinstall the plugin.

So I was experimenting to try to make it work, deleting, putting back, deleting, putting back……. but nothing helped.

The funny thing is that also on my other computer running windows 2000 professional it gives me the same bad results.

Then I had a clever moment and decided to copy the nextlimit folder to the R10 Demo/plugins folder, which is also on my computer.

I was very amazed to see that it runs fine in the demo,…., all the tools are there???????

How come, this is not suppose to happen is it?

Kind regards, Robert

Interesting, I also tried as a maniac to get them to work with no result. Got to download the demo to test.

Okay, thanks AAAron, at least I'm not alone with this problem.
Wrote another email to NL, when I have an answer to share, I will.

If someone else has a suggestion of what to try next, I would be happy to know.

Kind regards, Robert

Actually I was wrong. I only get the plug-ins shown on the attachment.

Weird or not?

Actually not, no... This is what I have too (Mac, RF4 full license, C4D9.6) and it is all you need.

Hello Christian, thanks for answering. According to the help file that comes with the plug-in, it should be six. (see the attachment)
Its all a bit confusing, in the help file inside RF they mention six and a few lines later five plug-ins.
So, I don’t know what’s correct.

But of course my main problem still exists: why does only the Mesh loader plug-in show up in my C4D 10 core?

Still no answer from next limit support.

Could it be that the Help file is outdated? I also have only 4, from what I can remember, the plugin which was released in mid February removed the 2 other ones (and flow tracer). Sorry I can't help your problem though.

Thanks Stevester, that problem is solved then.
This means that indeed the pdf that comes with the plug-ins is outdated.

Thanks again, Robert

I've been stuck on this too and found one partial solution..

A member from the C4D Cafe sent me his version of the plugin (listed as being for C4D 8.5) and it works better..ie I can now see the Mesh loader and the SD importer, just those two but better than it was..

BTW the 8.5 version I was sent is not the same as the one you get if you download the current zip folder from the NextLimit site which contains the R10 on, the 9.6 and another '8.5' one..none of those worked for me..
