View Full Version : modeling tools
Andy741 03-03-2003, 02:33 AM How would you guys rate the modeling tools in cinema 4d 8? I've used mostly Lightwave and Animation Master for modeling and modeled some in Maya so any compare and contrasts with those packages would be helpful.

I personally love being able to model point by point in c4d. While trying maya out I could only model with splines or curves as they were named. Of course I didn't mess with it that long...
Pretty similar to 3ds, haven't tried LW much...

Maya VS C4D
Maya's modeling tools are great specially when it becomes to nurbs and Subdivision surfaces.Cinema is nice because every single modeing tool has lot of options but unfortunately they can't turn into actions and for instance in maya if you hit G key last action will repeat and if you extruded a poly it gonna extrude again with G key and so on.In maya you can switch whether you want a tool to be an action or tool.
Enough said
Maya is amazing but if you don't need a very complex model and you want to work faster and easier Cinema 4D CRAVES for this.
