View Full Version : Flying bugs in Brainbugz
kapablo 03-06-2007, 10:35 PM My friend Esmundoz and I are working with the Brainbugz plugin, trying to make a flying swarm of bees. The problem is that they are behaving as ants, meaning they don't fly.
How do we make the bees move in three dimensions?
I know it\s possible, because my old teacher did it. We are looking to save valuable time by posting this question, as we only have a week to make the scenes.
Any hints are welcome!

Have you tried any of the scenes the plugin comes with?
They are flying in 3 dimension, I thought that you want make ants, but bees flying is already there. Post reduced scene, I want to take a look...

The scene the plugin comes with? Oh my god! I cannot believe we missed this. We have been messing around with it for two nights now without thinking that there may be something like that. OK, the work is progressing and the bees are flying around, but naturally we encounter new problems all the time.
I'll post a reduced scene later, when Esmundoz is ready. Right now he looks tired and a little grumpy :-)
Thanks!

Another question for the Brainbugz plugin:
How do you orient the source object for the instancer regarding aim direction?
Esmundoz tried setting the aim direction to velocity, without any visible result. The orientation of the source object (a bee) has no effect on the aim direction of the bee. Esmundoz also tried to rotate the local rotation access, without results.
Well that sounds strange too. I've just tried using bbSwarm file from brainbugz, atached instances to it, and they were fine.
If you have problem with orientation try freezing orientation see if that helps.
