View Full Version : "Leather & Claws"

I scanned in a drawing, and unfortunately it required alot of cleanup due to smudging and whatnot. This is why so much of it is nearly invisible. I had no set background in the drawing or in any layers as of yet. So far, I've only established a light source and basic color shceme for the main character. I'm completely open to any suggestions you guys think may help.

Well, I've worked a little more on the leather outfit, hair and eyes. Not too much of a next step but it's something I guess.~Angela

Completed the leather outfit, scythe, and adjusted some colors on hair.

Thanx for commenting:) Okay, I've done major work on the wolf, mainly base color, and fur hilights(with aid of fur brushes I downloaded from a tutorial). So far, I don't know if the wolf's color scheme will stay reddish or if I should change it later. I also still have no idea for what the BG will be.~Angela

Finally, I decided on a BG. Using a free-use manga comic background as a template, I painted in what I wanted. The ref had two moons in the sky, but I don't think that would've done anything for the composition. I realize the sky is probably at an odd angle in contrast to the characters, but I couldn't see them working tilted as well. I tried it multiple times and it didn't look too good. So for all intents and purposes, they're probably on a awckwardly positioned cliff/ledge and the clouds are just doing what they want because they look cool that way. Heh heh, not a very good explaination, but it could work. Here it is so far.~Angela

Did some touchups on the clouds, adjustments to the wolf's color, and hilight adjustments on the girl, and painted in hilights on the terrain. Not sure if it's dons yet, but it's close. Does it look done, or is there something more to be done?

I added more hilights for glowing effect on the characters. I think this is it. Thanx for looking.~Angela
