Hi

I have been struggling to get a descent studio setup for product design rendering.
What I am looking for is a cinema scene with lighting and stage.
Basically I would like to have the ground plane all white with only a soft diffused shadow from one or two area lights from above, and some reflected light back on to the object from the ground plane.
The faded floors I downloaded from the Maxon site take really long to render so I would be really greatfull if someone could provide me with some scenes or links to them.
When setting up a ground plane and area lights I cant get the plane to fade into white on the edges without using many lights. My goal is to get an effective setup by using as few lights as possible.

thx

I asume you have the german version so lets start:

- Get a "Rendertag" on the floor an check "Hintegrundcomposing"
- Get 1 Area light with area shadow from the top with a slight angel.
- get 2 spots from right and back with blue and brown warm light 20-40% intensity, and no specular (Glanzlicht)
- get a Sky with a studio background or set yourself a nice Layersetup of gradienst which simulate a lightbox (a studio is mostly black around!)

if you want a white horizont

- get a secon sky with white material and a rendertag on each sky check / uncheck respectivly the seen by Camera Checkbox.

- you can push the shadow to more kontrast by adding Ambient Occlusion to the floor Material in the Color Channel

If you have managed all it should look like this:

BTW this is basic stuff, play around and learn ... it will help you more to understand a basic light setup. And don't get kinky on GI so fast, its the next step *g*.

Have a nice day
