you might want to assign diffrent textures to the inside and out side of your suit. not many space men want a metal interior to what they are wearing. I mean when was the last time you wore a metal shirt. damn that would be uncomfortable

HI. It looks like a good start. I think the "splotches" where the paint has been scratched or wore off are to regular. Much of the shapes are just about the same size and are the same distance apart from each other. I would try to make them different sizes and have them very in distance from one another more. Using the fusion shader with a mask may be the answer. Take care.

Wilson 3d you'll never guess what i'm using;) I think I might have to paint my own textures in the end to get a good result.

JIII I still have to model the interior which will also have a small alien in to control the suit

yeah, but wouldn't it look just sooooooo cool? :bounce:

@thelegend: it seems to be a good idea to paint your own texture. think about where it would have the most scratches (ellbows, where the single pieces scratch each other) to give it a more used look
good work! looking forward to an update

Another little update the arm is complete, the hand isn't. I was aiming for a medievil armour style look but it needs a "few" modifications. I'm not quite sure what would look good on the other arm either a big gun (maybe a little cliche) or some sort of tool, any ideas would be helpful:) . NOTE: it going to be controled by a tiny alien (like men in black) so it doesn't matter that you would have to pop your shoulders out to get it to fit in the suit;)

the texturing is damn good...
but...and this is only an opinion.
i feel there is just to much damage/wear to the suit. unless of course it can be justified...say its a combat suit. also the wear should be in areas that come into contact with say something they rub against...or where the suit knocks against something when worn....eg edge areas etc....those bits that are in areas that don't get knocked about and have wear on them you need to justify the wear...say a bullet dent...or burns...rust...or whatever.
also the neck part need to be smoother as you can see the edges to it.
however it still rocks and looking forward to end result.

ps. agree with ya on image size limit....that sux!!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates guys but I've been real busy. Anyway I've finally got to do the legs yay. The hands are still er well, but one arm is going to have something else on it when I decide what it should be. I also got rid of the wear on the suit does this look better?

Much better. the textures do not look so patterned any more. Procedurals can bite you if your not careful. one small thing you might want to define the knee area a little bit more. it doesnt look quite as good as the arms.

hey TheLegend299
much better but i like the white damage showing from under the paintwork. just not as much as in front3-for-web.jpg

would like to see suit-4-for-web.jpg and white flecks from front3-for-web.jpg but in worn areas of need...
anyhow keep up the good works its really coming along:thumbsup:

JIII - Your right there, but I think I need to change the whole upper leg it kinda looks like it has 2 knees.

flingster - Guess I'll have to paint some alphas on it then, when I have some time

Anyway it's update time. I've modelled the controller for the suit yay:beer: . c&c please
