View Full Version : FumeFX Vs. Aura
Luxo-Jr 03-06-2007, 04:47 AM I guess it was inevitable one of these threads would pop up, but I'm curious to know which is better out of FumeFX and Aura.
(Speaking of Aura, what's the deal with it? The website for it seems pretty stale and there's hardly been any news. I know the beta testing has been closed.
Is it still alive and has there been a build for 3ds Max 9?)

its dead, in terms of development. so really there isnt much comparison. maybe better to compare maya fluids against fume, its the only other thing similar, that isnt inhouse tools. As far as im aware.

Actually, in a recent interview the Chaos Group head honcho spoke of hiting a roadblock that slowed Aura dev (i think they had to rewrite it, something like this), but he reassured that it is still being developed. No new builds publicly available, though. There is a link to the interview in the aura topic - the last page.

well thats good news. always better have a choice. But if you want to compare now, then fume is the only one you can use. but we wait to see what emerges from aura.
