Luckily for all of you holding back, the clip is only going to be available for 24 hours. Of course, it'll probably live forever on YouTube and all the other video sites...

To all who think watching an 8 minute clip is gonna ruin an entrie movie, what makes ya think you won't get hit by a bus before Spidey 3 comes out.?:) Seize the day! :)
Watch and Enjoy.:) I thought someone ruined the Sixth Sense for me after they told me the ending before I saw the movie, yet when I chose to still watch the movie, I was even more impressed in how it was well crafted.:)
All in all, it's your call to watch or not watch regardless of what i share. ;)
Thanks fo posting the link Roberto.:)

That was some cool footage. I'm not too worried about it ruining the movie for me. Watching it in high def is kinda like watching the movie anyways. You just get the movie in smaller pieces over extended period of time. Most trailers these days show quite a bit. If you think about it, seeing one intact 8 minute sequence seems like actually less plot spoiler then seeing a whole trailer. I can understand how each person is different in their viewing tastes, though.

you can be sure it isnt the only fight between Peter and Harry. Plus i this movie is around 2 hours and 40 minutes. There is much, much more to see.

Exactly. With a movie over 2 hours long, there is enough movie to go around. :)
And it's only up for 24 hours! Be gone by tomorrow.

Well I wasn't too impressed with this clip. I really dislike the goblin design, and I'm not even close to what anyone would consider a fan of the comics. I watched the cartoon as a kid, and played the video games, but I don't really know they characters all that well. Still though the X-Games Goblin just doesn't do it for me. I guess its better than the Power Ranger Goblin but still.

I am afraid 2 hours of the movie will be cringe inducing love scenes between mj and peter as seen at the beginning of that clip. :)

I was not impressed either, I am not even sure that was a good idea from Sony to release THAT clip. I personally think that the Spiderman franchise needs to be reworked - the stills of Venom that are getting leaked seem pretty B-Movie, but maybe that is just rough footage. I'll watch it anyway, just do not understand why MJ doesn't look like Todd McFarlanes's version :D

I'm always amazed at the amount of haters out there when studios release this stuff. People can't wait to see it, then it's up, and those same people slam it. Venom's a great example. The fanboys wanted venom, now they got him...and they hate him. I think he looks cool, but for those who don't, what do you expect him to look like? I mean, he's been integrated nicely, the effects look cool. What gives?....
Bottom line, the haters will still pay to see it, still pay for the DVD, so it doesn't really matter.

Sadly I'd bet money on it. There was a trailer that was on here and one point, but it got pulled off, and I did get to see a quick shot of Venom. The way it was set up, it looked like the final shot of the movie. I could be wrong, but don't get your hopes up. I'm almost positive we won't see Venom in action till Spidey 4.

I wasn't terribly impressed neither. Tho in SPI's defence, I think a lot of it is down to the incredibly over the top camera. If I go see this movie in the cinema, I'm going to make sure *not* to eat before going in in case it makes me seasick :)

I do not think that one can point a finger at the effects crew and blame them. I am sure they are putting in a 100%, but at someone elses direction and vision. I guess I am a bit older and did not expect to see a green and black flying snowboard boy with some motorcross gear on. I also do not think that the movie is getting "slammed", but just receiving some varied opinions.
Like I said, nobody knows if this is a final shot, maybe its just a placeholder, but in my opinion could be done better...

Well I'll take that bet. On the footage shown on nbc.com the final shot was of Venom charging the camera, and according to ign.com who saw the new trailer that will be out this friday with the 300, Venom or at least his claws are shown as part of a major battle. I think its great that Sony has been able to keep things so tight lipped about venom, but I've said it before and I'll say it again...
For most of the cast and crew (Raimi, Maguire, Dunst, and the writers) this is their last Spidey film. Why would you setup something as huge as Venom, designing him, telling his backstory, casting him, etc. if you were only going to leave it for the next group to take over. It just doesn't make sense. The only time they pull stuff like that is if they've already signed on for the sequel or they're shooting them back to back ie Lord of the Rings, Matrix, Pirates.
As for the hater comment, personally my beef isn't with the effects (though they are noticable, I'm sure they're not final shots) its with the cinematography, fight coreography, and the cheesy dialouge. Aunt May said something like "I thought it was the sun." in regards to her ring. Gag. It just feels more like Spiderman 1 (which I didn't like at all) than Spiderman 2 (which I really enjoyed)

they really need to fix the eyes on venom. They look like latex, and aren't very dynamic. At least that's how they look in that screen grab. I always liked the beefier venom designs as well. This venom kinda looks more like carnage. Not saying it's going to suck... just saying is all.

**Theory/Possible Spoiler**
It might be nothing, but I noticed from the HD footage that was on nbc that Harry's battle suit had the same texture as the Venom suit and obviously had some morphing abilites. This makes me think that the symbiote may have been created by Oz-Corp (possibly using nanotech). After the battle with Harry, Peter unknowingly brings it home...

If you can't deal with haters, you might want to step away from the internet! Personally, I'm excited. I think the new goblin design is pretty bad too but it's hardly going to ruin the movie for me. Raimi is a great director, Spider-man is a great franchise and I liked the last two so I expect this won't let us down. But especially in a community of digital artists, we really *should* have a critical eye towards these kinds of things. An artist having an artistic opinion doesn't constitute 'hating' and the worst thing that any of us could do is just accept everything we're fed. There'd be no point in improving the craft if we did.

I swear I don't understand why it's cool to have movies with obvious CG presented as though it can actually intercut with live-action.
Why not just show a shot of Toby Maguire, then cut to a freakin' puppet show? What's the difference? You never believe for one second it's a real dude in the suit swinging on a web in the city, anyway, which was the entire point in the first place. These movies are all Live Action>Cutscene>Live Action>Cutscene. If you can't pull off 2000 seamless shots, then how about limit it to 200 and do the job right. "Good FX" used to be a put-down. Now it's a tagline. Suckers.
