Title: Desk Space
Name: Matthew Lee
Country: USA
Software:

Here is another night picture. This is an old scene I made about a year ago, and now I started to work on it some more to finish. About 2 main lights in this scene and a few negitive lights for shadows. Some small work done in Paint Shop. FPrime render used.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I like a lot of things about your scene, especially the globe. The desk is throwing me off a llittle though. The knobs on the drawers look too flat and small to be useful, and having two knobs on one drawer looks weird too.. the chair seat looks very hard and uncomfortable. The curtain, while very pretty, is also oppressive. It looks like it goes on in either direction without end. I have to wonder why this person put their desk up to a window, and then put gigantic heavy drapes in front of the window, that are probably hard to move out from behind the desk.

I would move the lamp to one side or another so it's not so central. It also bothers me that there is no real clear working space, even though it looks like someone has just left or is coming back for their pizza. I'd remove the radio? and put a phone off to the side instead.

Thanks. You have some good ideas there. The chair and the desk are both real objects I tried to make in 3D (Lightwave 3D), the chair really isn't that comfortable in real life. Moving the lamp is a good idea that I forgot about, and I wasn't sure if anyone would notice the curtains being too long. I think there is a mix of an old house with a somewhat new desk in this image. The phone is a good idea too.
