Does anyone know what the diff is between the 4600 and the 4800SE?

And is the 4800SE softquad capable?

Thanks guys

I think that the 4800s are 4600s with a bit higher specs and 8X AGP. I'm not sure exactly whats diffrent, but the 8X AGP is the main thing. As for softquadro, I don't know why not, but I haven't heard.

the 4800SE is a 4400 with 8x AGP support (the normal 4800 without the SE is a 4600 8x) yes you can softquadro it

Verify what core the Ti 4800 or other AGP 8X Geforce 4 ti cards are running. Some are Ti 4200's, some Ti 4400's, and some Ti 4600's. Sucks if you buy a ti 4800 and it turns out to be a ti 4200. Read VERY carefully.

actually the reason I asked was because my boss just bought one at work and I'm having problems softquad'n it. When I go into rivatuner... I don't get any NVStrap options at all.

Any ideas?

and it's real weird.... if I try and install 41.03 drivers just straight up... nothing installes, it's almost like the OS (XP) doesn't even bother with it.

have you followed the complete softquadro instructions, including instructions? did you install the anti-protection patch on the uncompressed drivers before MANUALLY installing them (not using the .exe file to install them for you)? it's all in the readme, so make sure you check that out before posting here.

also, rivatuner will not work unless the person logged on has full admin rights over their machine. a standard user profile on a domain will not have these rights. a locally logged in system (not connected to a domain) should be fine, however.

yup all done.

I didn't however install the save version of drivers before I started this. It wouldn't install for some reason. So I used the current version from nvidia.com, which installed fine.

Should I install the 41.03 drivers first?
