Hi guys, I'm new here. I hunted this place down as am having a problem with a render.

Basically I'm rendering a comp of 2625 X 1050 very big :(

The project I am using is an old tutorial I butchered ages ago and worked in as it had elements I wanted to use. It also had cameras in some of the comps that were not used , after my problems I deleted these to try and rectify the problem.

When I render and play back the AVI it's as if only about a third of the comp (from the left edge) is being rendered, also its being stretched to the full width of the composition. The rest of the image is not present at all.

When I'm working on the comp it all looks fine, I can see all the image it's just when rendered that it all goes pete tong.

I am not cropping or stretching within the render settings so whats up, is it an odd camera thing? I'm not too hot on the 3d side of things still in After Effects.

Thanks for your time

Regards

hard to say. my best guess would be not to render that large. but if you have to, than my second best guess is that you're out of memory. give us your system specs please.

if this is the problem than you might try solving it this way:
open AE
open your project
hold down shift
(while holding) goto Edit > Preferences > 'whatever'
[here the config window pops up. go to the dropdown list and select 'Secret']
do not check any checkboxes. just type in a value of 2, maybe 3. i generally use something around 15, but i render SD and HD, not some FHHDLF (f-king huge HD-like footage) :D

hope this helps
cheers
