I've been working on this piece for the last two days now

It is Galadriels Mirror (from Lord of the Rings), inspired by an Alan Lee painting

I've only just started on texturing and lighting

Thats awesome I thought when I saw the pic that you were only going to model te bowl, but thats is perfect...

looks great - i have only a couple comments - it appears there's some sort of glow in the second post underneath the table - i don't know if that's supposed to be there, or you were using a light to light-up the underside of the table...

also, the table itself, and the roots holding it up look very old, but the tile looks very new - clean and polished - i noticed you roughed it up a bit in the second render, and i'd like to see more of that. dirty and eroded are good things!

I'd love to see the pictures but my schools Proxy (st. Benard) says the site is profain lol... and the public schools hallways "arnt"... oh well replying so i get a email to check it later.
