I know that there are some free 3d models offered here from CG society:

i was wondering if we can use these for reels? I would like to use one of them but I'm not sure who the modeler was. I tried opening up the file in Mel Studio to see if someone was listed as the artist, but couldn't find any names. Im not sure if there is another way of finding out who the artist is and giving credit. I know they said they were free, and i would like to give credit to the modeler on the reel, i just don't know if that much is even allowed...

I'm still new at this!! :)
thanks

I used several models for my animation reel and a few other setups used them as well for theirs. Its fine, since thats what there there for. Just credit CGSociety if the artist name is not given.

Best of luck.

The modeler's name is in the lower right corner of the webpage you attacted to your thread. His name is Christophe Desse. You can look up his contact info at his website.

I rigged his Soldier model not to long ago. I asked him for permission to post the rig up for free and he gave me the go ahead. Which model(s) are you working with?

If you'd like to try my rig, it's posted here on CGSociety, my portfolio website, and Kiel Figgin's website.
