Is it possible in cinema 4d to import a video sequence into a working window and then rotoscope an animation?

Wow...that's a good question. Are you wanting to trace each frame, advancing frame by frame as you change the position of the model? I don't think so.

It seems like it would be easier to break it apart in Flash, outline every frame, and then save that as a .swf, import it into Freehand, and then spit it out as a sequence of Illustrator files. Then you get to morph each spline:thumbsup:

Either way you do it it will take a bunch of time. You may want to look at Adobe Streamline for batch conversion from image sequences to illustrator files.

Kaiskai would know I bet. He's the traditional animator round here.

IT IS POSSIBLE!!!!

In the objectmenu ( object - Scene - Background) you make a backgroundobject.
Then you make a new material. select your videofile as an image in the coulourmenu.

click and drag your colour to the background and set it to frontal.

Make sure, the videofile and renderoptions have the same resolutions.

Have fun!!!!

Hey chek it out....you can. I would have suggested this but it seemed to me that in V7 you would have to render out the scene to get the movie frame to show up.

Great job!

Thanks. :) Maybe rotoscope isn't the exact word, but something similar using a 3d character instead of drawings.
