I'm experimenting with refracting materials. I was having relative success until I ran into this problem. I was trying to make a simple paper with one of those rounded glass magnifying glass thingies (see pics, hehe). But the inside of the faces in the glass turn opaque. When I disable self-refract I get a more acceptable result, but the back edges of the glass arent visible through it (maybe this is optically correct?). Also, light doesnt seem to pass through the glass and hit the paper, resulting in a dark area below the glass. How do I get light to properly interact with the glass?

(self refract off- clear, but cant see other side of glass. shadow is incorrect)

(self-refract off, prism raised off paper. No shadow, looks ok. only prob is the invisible far side.)
