Hiya, guys. Quick question -

I'm helping out on a project which has, up until now, had its main animators using Max 4 for animation. Only problem is, we've only got Max 3 in-house. When trying to load .max files saved in version 4, I get an empty scene.

So, anyone know how to work a minor miracle and import .max files into version 3? I could, of course, go out to .3ds or something similar, but I want to keep all biped information and other sundries, so I'd prefer to be able to keep within .max files.

Thanks in advance!

Could be anywhere from painful to impossible. You might be able to save out your biped motions as .bip files and save out your figures, then load them into MAX3, but I really don't know about the backward compatibility of those formats. You might also check out ScriptSpot (http://www.scriptspot.com), see if anyone has written any scripts that could be of use.

Good luck!
