View Full Version : Copying hotkeys,marking menus to Maya 8.5

Is there anyway I can transfer my existing hotkeys, custom marking menus from Maya 7.0 to Maya 8.5? I tried copying the userHotkeys.mel,userNamedCommands.mel inside the prefs folder to prefs under 8.5
But this did not work. Anyways to get it to work? BTW I am on Linux.

copy userRunTimeCommands.mel too along with those two you allready copied.
it should work with no problems :)

Thanks I was away on a break.
Its working sweet now!

These are the files I copied from Maya 7.0
------------------------------------------------
(from prefs directory)
userHotkeys.mel
userNamedCommands.mel
userRunTimeCommands.mel

(from prefs/markingMenus directory)
all my custom marking menus
------------------------------------------------

Also make sure you copy all scripts as well :)
