My first digital painting. It took me a week and a half (about an hour a day). I'd never used Photoshop before, so half the time I was adjusting to the tools and trying to figure out how things worked. It was a good learning experience.

I know there are heaps of things wrong (deformed window anyone?), but overall, I think I've improved my skills drastically.

Any criticisms/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I ended up using my own school's website. I didn't realize I had to copy the image address.

hello jumbo, glad you solved the problem :)
as for the picture i dont know your previuos skills so i cant really say weather you got better or not maybe if you post some of your old work ?

the first thing that hit my eye (i have only one I'm a cyclop :)) is the unrifined sky i see just angled strokes not very realistic try some clouds, its a good idea to use reference photos it works for me

that machine is also unrifined it could use some more gizmos and mecchanical parts
also the machine is outlined with black ink while the rest of the picture isn't

its a good start though keep praticing
hope it helps :)

I would create depth in the sky too by adding darker blue towards the horizon
