Here comes my late entry!
I've titled him The High Strategist (I wanted Grand, but it one character too much).
As implied by the title, this character is a strategist/tactician/navigator instead of a direct combat character. Old even by the standards of The Ancients, The High Strategist directs The Ancients forces to tear apart enemy armies with terrifying precision.
Functional Elements (Weapons)
His somewhat average psychic abilities are amplified greatly by the "caster" device that floats behind him. Although it appears dormant, the caster enables him to communicate psychically to anyone regardless of distance.
While ideally he wishes to avoid any direct harm, The Strategist posesses an orb of massive power that he uses to generate a impenetrable shield around himself.
Inspirations include Sun Tzu (in idea if not so much in appearance) and Lo Pan (the villain from Big Trouble in Little China).

I'm not very good at drawing unfortunately, but it's enough for me to imagine. I'll likely be tweaking every aspect right till the end until something clicks and I become happy with it all.
Some adjustments are in order already, such as making him look less like some kind of Space Pope.
Still have to finalize design of the caster as well, something that works well with the silhouette, but more cylindrical than in the above image.
